This course covers principles and practices in cryptography exploring more in-depth concepts in network security and secure communication. Students will work in a variety of algorithms and how concepts like public key infrastructure, hash functions and encryption methods help to secure an organization.

Skill in recognizing technical information that may be used for leads to enable remote operations (data includes users, passwords, email addresses, IP ranges of the target, frequency in DNI behavior, mail servers, domain servers, SMTP header information).

Securely compute without exposing data.

Skill in assessing the application of cryptographic standards.

Analyze sending messages and exchanging information with cryptosystems.

Skill in using Public-Key Infrastructure (PKI) encryption and digital signature capabilities into applications (e.g., S/MIME email, SSL traffic).

Examine ciphers and the qualities that make them perfect.
